Gwragedd Annwn

The Gwragedd Annwn, or Wives of the Underworld, are beautiful lake-dwelling fairies of Welsh tradition. They emerge from mountain lakes to marry mortals under strict conditions, returning beneath the water if those conditions are broken. Llyn Barfog, the Bearded Lake, is among the places most closely associated with them.
