Kirkcudbright Tolbooth

The old tolbooth of Kirkcudbright in Galloway — a 16th-century civic building with a long history as a prison. It held John Paul Jones briefly after a dispute, and its tower and spire have become the emblem of the town that styles itself the Artists' Town of Scotland.
